The city of Boston is home to a wide assortment of different activities that is sure to thrill visitors to this glorious city. Visitors can partake in shopping at numerous different venues, visit several different museums, an aquarium and gaze upon several impressive structures.

The Freedom Trail : One of the most popular walking tours in the United States, the Freedom Trail is about 3 miles in length. The trail is simple to follow due to painted red lines and pavement inserts. 90 minute guided tours are operated by Park Rangers. Points of interest include the USS Constitution, the site of the Boston Massacre and the home Paul Revere lived in.

The USS Constitution : The oldest existing commissioned warship, the Constitution never lost a battle she was involved in. Ortiz, Mike Lowell and Jason Varitek homered to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 5-3 victory over the suddenly struggling Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. Matt Clement pitched 6 2/3 solid innings, helping the AL East-leading Red Sox to their ninth win in 12 games. The Phillies have lost fourth straight after a 13-1 stretch.

Clement (4-3) allowed three runs and five hits. He left after allowing consecutive two-out singles in the seventh. Keith Foulke entered and allowed Utley’s two-run double into the right-field corner before striking out Bobby Abreu to preserve a two-run lead.

The Boston Red Sox are showing why they have so much history in baseball. Boston is currently 24-15 and holds one of the best records in the league just behind the White Sox and the Tigers in the American League.

The Miracle of the 2004 Boston Red Sox

Two years later, in 1920, the RedSox sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees and the curse of The Bambino was born. Boston would not win another World Series until 2004.


The 2004 season was magical for BoSox players and fans. It featured star players such as David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Johnny Damon, Curt Schilling, and Pedro Martinez. It was a run unlike any other in history.


In the years preceding 2004, the Boston Red Sox had come close to reaching the World Series. In fact, the previous season, in 2003, the Sox were nearly defeated by the eventual champion New York Yankees in the AL Championship Series.


It looked like they were going to fall again to the Yankees in the 2004 AL Championship Series. After sweeping the Anaheim Angels in the Divisional Playoff Series, the Sox found themselves down three games to none. The curse was alive and well and only a miracle would save the 2004 season.
